“If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!”
Psalms 91:9-13 NLT
The key point here is ‘If you make’, the decision to ha e God as our protector, Defence, strength, is ours to make. We have to choose Him above all, we have to continue to choose Him.
When we choose God, not only does God protect us, but he gives us the power to destroy the forces that come against us. Tread on the lion and the cobra. Trample on the great lion and the serpent. Tread and trample are action words—now we are taking the fight to our enemies. (Remember, our enemies are spiritual forces, not the people we see who may be persecuting us.) Because God is with us and his angels are protecting us, even the “gates of hell” will not prevail against us. The size of our enemy doesn’t matter, because our victory comes through the power and authority of the Most High God.
We win because He is, not because we are!
“Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.”
Psalms 91:5-8 NLT
God will protect us and deliver us from every attack. His deliverance may mean that we still face trials, but Jesus said: “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.” (Matt. 10:28). When God protects us—his children—we know that we are safe. Even if we suffer persecution and physical death, nothing can snatch us out of God’s powerful and loving hands.
When enemies directly attack us we can remain at peace, knowing that God himself is our shield and our fortress. Remember that we don’t have to act—you will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.” God will act on your behalf. God will defend his children. “Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will accomplish for you today. (Exodus 14:13). We just need to declare His victory! His supremacy!
Open your eyes and see God at work! He has never and will never fail! Victory is assured
My husband loves tennis and is an ardent Nadal fan, he watches every match Nadal plays like a hundred times over (except the ones Nadal lost 😉) I often wonder how he enjoys it so much watching the same match over and over even though he already knows how it ends. One day while grudgingly watching one of such matches with him, I had an ‘AHA’ moment. I realized that right from the beginning, I knew the outcome of the match, I had seen the result on the news previously, Nadal won! Knowing Nadal already won the match changed the entire experience of watching the match.
As I watched the match unfold, there were times Nadal was losing. I started thinking to myself, Oh, no! He is falling behind! He won’t be able to come back. This isn’t going to end well.
Then I would come to my senses and realize, Wait! The end is already decided. Victory is certain. He already won!
When his opposition would score, it wasn’t pleasant to watch, but I could smile because I knew the final outcome.
Then it hit me, you and I are living lives full of ups and downs. There are days that seem like a victory, and other days we feel defeated. On the hard days it’s easy to look around and become discouraged. It’s easy to feel like things are never going to work out.
I want you to be reassured with the truth of God’s eternal promises. The end of the story is already written, and we win! The match is fixed in our favour! We can’t lose! No matter how it looks at the moment, no matter how we feel right now, WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS! WE WIN!
“I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you—”
Joshua 1:3 NLT
As I read this passage this morning joy just welled up in my spirit, a song of praise burst forth from my mouth because it just dawned on me that everywhere my foot goes is already mine. I am not asking for it, I am not begging for it, it is land my God has already given me! Past tense! I am not about to receive it, am not planning on getting it. It is Land my God has already given me!
Divine health is land my God has already given me!
Abundance is land my God has already given me!
Protection and security is land my God has already given me!
Whatever thing I need and require is Land my God has already given me!
Glory Alleluia! My God has already given me all that I could ever need or ask for!
It is mine already!
So the Manchester derby was last night, it was meant to be the night that Manchester Cuty would be crowned premier League Champions. As at half time the score was Manchester city 2: Manchester United 0. Surely the cup was safely secured by City, am sure some fans had started the process of celebration but in the 53rd and 55th minute United scored and the scores were leveled. At this point City could still be the league winners, except that in the 69th minute of the match United scored again and the game ended Manchester City 2: Manchester United 3. Manchester City will now have to win its next two games and United who are second will have to lose, or City will just have to wait till the end of the season to be crowned Champions
1. It’s not over till it’s over – no matter the situation, no matter the circumstances, God can and will still come through for you. Don’t look at stormy seas, but keep your eyes focused on the Master. He will come through, the end is not yet here, it can’t end until you win.
2. Take advantage of every opportunity presented to you, you never know if it will be your last opportunity. “making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil.”
EPHESIANS 5:16 AMP
3. Your day of celebration is assured, it may be postponed but it is assured. “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us].”
ROMANS 8:37 AMP
4. Never give room for your opponent to regroup, keep on the offensive. The Bible says “And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness].”
EPHESIANS 4:27 AMP
