A SPECIAL POSSESSION

The dictionary defines possession as something that is owned or possessed and the state of being completely dominated by an idea or emotion.

The dictionary also defines special as Better, greater, or otherwise different from what is usual and Exceptionally good or pleasant

The Bible says in the book of Deuteronomy: “That is why the Levites have no share of property or possession of land among the other Israelite tribes. The Lord himself is their special possession, as the Lord your God told them.)”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Can the same be said of you and I, is the Lord our special possession? Do we prize Him above all else, do we see Him as exceptionally good? Can we say that He has completely dominated all of us, every part?

The Levites had no physical earthly property, no possession, no inheritance nothing but they had God and that was all they needed. The never lacked, they were never abandoned, all their needs were met. There was nothing missing in their lives simply because God was their special possession.

Can we also make God our special possession today? He is the same yesterday, today and forever, He never changes! He will be our ever present help, He will be our shield and exceeding great reward, He will be our ever present help

GOD ON THE INSIDE

“You must not defile the land where you live, for I live there myself. I am the Lord, who lives among the people of Israel.””
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭35:34‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If the Israelites had to be conscious not to defile the land because God dwelt there, how much more we of the New Testament who have God in the inside of us continually. We ought to walk with the consciousness of God on our inside, justifying and keeping us in the right!

THE HEART OF WORSHIP

“You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You’re out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours. Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:8-10‬ ‭MSG‬‬

How many times do we come to the presence of our Father and all we do is stroke our egos, make ourselves feel good, enjoy the music or message without pleasing the One whom we have come for? Do we even realize that the reason for worship is to please Him? Do we know that the purpose of our lives is to p,ease Him? To find what pleases Him and just do it? The lyrics of the song Heart of Worship says it all

When the music fades,

all is striped away and I simply come,

longing just to bring something that’s of worth,

that will bless Your heart.

I’ll bring You more than a song,

for a song in itself is not what You have required.

You search much deeper within through the way things appear,

You’re looking into my heart.”

“I’m coming back to the heart of worship and it’s all about You,

it’s all about You, Jesus.”

when we come to Him to please Him and Him only, when all that matters is that He smiles in satisfaction when He sees or hears from us, when every other thing is put in the background and we simply come, He pours Himself into us and our lives never remain the same!

I’m coming back to the heart of worship and it’s all about You Jesus!
